-About the Owner
Steve Fitzgerald is a lifelong resident of Atlantic County. He saw an available shop at Historic Smithville and knew that it would be a great place for a barbershop. With a background in carpentry and real estate, Steve did the woodwork, laid out the black and white checkered tile, and put in the fixtures to make the shop come alive. He wanted to create a place that men could go get a great cut but at the same time have the feel of a small town barbershop.

LOU'S STORY
Welcome , Come on in!
An Old school Barber Shop handed down from the legend Master Barber, Lou Golini.
Doing crisp beard trims, haircuts,hot towel shaves,and more.
Lou’s Barber Shop has recently been renovated and refurbished by the new owner Steven Fitzgerald. Steven took an interest to Lou and his barber shop and decided he would take over the shop while Lou would retire. Steven loves the atmosphere surrounding Philadelphia avenue and was fascinated by the stories he was being told about the history and the past of Lou’s Barber Shop
Once Lou obtained ownership of 319 Philadelphia Ave, he transformed the place. His brother and father-in-law redid the ceilings and made the sub shop look more like a barber shop. Just like Lou, once Steven got ownership of the company, he refurbished and redid the place. After the barber shop was finished being redone, Lou paid a visit to see how it turned out. He says it was a little different than how it used to look, but that was Steven’s goal, Steven is trying to mix the old with the new and make everything old, new again.
Steven has changed it up a bit, but overall, he wants the customers to feel the same feeling they felt when they first stepped foot into Lou’s those many years ago.

Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival
We have participated in this 2-day event the past couple of years. We offer haircuts and hair requests to the guests of the festival.
St. Baldrick's Day Fundraiser
Smithville Barber Shoppe is happy to participate and volunteer for any St. Baldrick's Day events in the Atlantic County area. We are proud to say we have been shaving heads for kids, and adults alike, for the St. Baldrick's Foundation since 2010!
Veterans Day
Inspired by Steven's grandfather, a WWII Veteran, Steven wanted to do something special to give back to those that served, and continue to serve, our country.
Every Veterans Day, the shoppe gives FREE haircuts to veterans and active members of the military!
